Bamboo
Design Ilenia Viscardi, 2025
Bamboo is a collection of mirrors that combines reflective function and light in a single, essential gesture.
Inspired by the lightness and verticality of bamboo stalks, the design interprets the mirror as an element capable of interacting with the space in a discreet yet meaningful way. The reflective surface, intentionally discontinuous, reflects a partial and dynamic image, like a glance that sweeps across a natural scene. The mirror is backlit by LEDs and hinged to a slim, elegant metal frame, available in matte anodized bronze, burnished, white, black, and greige finishes.
The integrated backlighting diffuses a soft, gradual glow; on/off control is via a magnetic remote control, always within reach. A version without lighting is also available. The collection includes floor-standing versions in widths of 35, 60, and 170 cm (height 192 cm) and square formats of 60 and 80 cm, offering various compositional possibilities both as individual elements and in sequences. In the 35- and 60-cm floor-standing versions, the mirror rotates partially around its vertical axis, allowing the light to be directed and the atmosphere to be adjusted; in the 60-cm width, the frame can be complemented by a fabric-covered back panel, enhancing its decorative presence. Bamboo thus reaffirms its essential and sophisticated identity: a design in which light, reflection, and form find a measured and contemporary balance.
