Pierre Shell

Pierre Shell

Design Studio Contromano, 2021

A collection of lively and informal armchairs. Hybrid creations for relaxed and spontaneous conviviality.

Armchairs with a soft, irregular shape and a padded seat with a completely removable leather or fabric cover, they are available in three dimensions and with a backrest in two versions: in the "shell" version the backrest is a curved metal shell that gives it a strong aesthetic sign, in the other the metal backrest is minimal and transversal, making the fabrics the real protagonists of this piece of furniture. The option of freely combining the seat cover, the backrest cover and the metal finish (anodic bronze, white, matt burnished, black, greige, oxide, silver oxide and desert rock) makes the Pierre armchairs lively, young, capable of giving any environment a touch of personal originality.
  • Close-up detail of the upholstered backrest: you can feel the full-bodied, velvety texture of BRUNO 0856 Toffee fabric, which combines elegance and visual comfort. The fabric features a sophisticated tonal variation between copper and bronze, perfectly enhanced by the curved metal backing.
  • On the PIERRE coffee table top in T013 matte burnished finish, a decorative composition with clear glass vase, purple flowers, and stained glass sculptures adds a poetic, handcrafted touch to the space. The open magazine suggests a relaxed, lived-in atmosphere. The matte burnished top barely reflects light, maintaining an understated, textured character.
  • The framing highlights the perfect fit between the fabric backrest and the metal frame. The tailoring of the upholstery, stitching, and harmonious curvature confirm the high quality construction of the PIERRE SHELL armchair.
  • In an elegant setting with dark, yet enveloping tones, two Pierre Shell armchairs with frames in Brunito Opaco T013 finish and lagoon-colored Adam 0845 fabric seats face a Pierre coffee table in Desert Rock T029 finish. In the background, the CCLight bookcase, also in Desert Rock T029 finish, vertically illuminates the shelves, enhancing books and decorative objects. A floor lamp with a geometric profile completes the scene, creating an intimate and refined atmosphere.

Next to the Majal bed in Seattle 0568 fabric in antique pink, the Pierre Shell armchair in Nina 0751 fabric in antique pink with back cushion in Calvin 0929 fits into a cozy, bright corner. The large window opens the space to a hilly landscape and an infinity pool. Outside, two light-colored armchairs from the Gaudi line with Pierre side tables complete the relaxed atmosphere. Neutral tones, natural light and vegetation create continuity between inside and outside.
Thanks to the soft lines and the option of freely mixing and matching the covers and finishes, the armchair Pierre Shell blends beautifully with every other element in the décor.
